I found ribbion. The options below were stunning but a bit to bright for my very earthy scarf. So I am but waiting for more to come in. They had almost all of what I needed but fell a good yard short at the fabric store. Plus I can use a coupon if I wait.

So stay tuned for more on the great ribbion hunt.

I got my final gift from the most wonderful Weebugknits.... It is great. Pictures after the new year. O it is great and has a pattern and everything.

I hope all of your holidays have be fantatsic and will catch up after I return to my normal computor.

Have fun and be safe!

MCIS

If this is all that wrong I guess I should count my self lucky...But I will tell you any way.

My car is sick and I have a mission. No it is not a mission to the the moon. No It is not to find the perfect dress for the company dinner. Yes it is knitting related!

I need beautiful ribbon, preferably variegated silk in natural tones w/a rust base, but I really am flexible here. It is hard to find wonderful ribbon if your car is sick. But I have faith and the ability to ride the bus if needed.

But first lunch.

Happy Things

Things that make me happy.

The voice that greats me in the morning . Even though its over the phone I can see the smile.

When the dogs get a hair cut. When The cat looks like a lion.

The word Hi.

Little bits of hay in fine wool. Its like a wool kiss.

Progress.

When people google me.

The new Knitty.

Realization of personal growth.

Laughter and happiness.

Have a good week all.

Let me tell you

I have had a super hyped up week. Working the two jobs has kind of put me into a frenzy of constant motion. I am used to being on the go but now it feels like when it comes time to sit I should just be sleeping.

The run down...

Sunday: Knit class and I met the o so wonderful Deb, from Deb on the Web. She was knitting a very cool pair of purple socks for a niece. I was teaching class and I did not get to spend as much Chatty knitting time with her as I would like. So I hope some time we can knit without a zillion questions flying and my over worked attention span.

Sunday is the day I seem to meet new people. Last week it was Stephanie and this week Deb.

Saturday: I left it hanging with my secret pal(s)

So I had a Great secret Pal from Ohio named April ...But I have been unable to contact her. But Thank you. She sent me some very funs stuff including a great turtle.

Then my SP3 from Seattle was the wonderful Marti from Weebugknits. She has sent me some of the softest yarns I have ever felt. I am also a lurker on her sight go look at the cool things she has knit.

Then the peeps that I had were Laurie from Yarn Wanderings and .... I can't tell she has not confirmed that she got the info yet. But I will as soon as she does.

now I leave you with my new very cool hair style......

and new hair color. Its a little fun and funky and less I work in an office but I like it.

Effusion Lamps

Have you tried these? Effusion Lamps

Do they work as well as they sound like they should?

D

Smitten

Smitten with the idea of mittens. My hands and feet are a little cold this past weekend. I am thinking cozy mitten’s for the great out of doors and wonderful house socks for the insides. But I think I need to finish my Christmas knitting first.

What am I knitting peeps for the great holiday? I am not sure yet.
There is a lot I would like to knit people but really. It is just me and I get distracted by new projects to often to take on knitting for the holidays. But I know I will try and long nights will be inevitable.

I went to Mabel's this weekend for the fun-ness ( a Danielle word) of Queer knitting . I had a great time. I met some very wonderful people who happen to blog Stephanie, from Wild Geese and Marta, from I am still standing. E gads I had fun. Stephanie is a Sock superstar. Marta is picking up the habit after a vacation from it. It was a small group but for me very chatty and just relaxing. Its very odd to meet people from blog land post having read there blog. I am excited and hope to knit with them both again.

I have been working at two jobs for three days and I am all hyped but still tired. I can't seem to settle down and focus on any one thing. If you notice my post is all jumpy. I have been writing it since 3:00 pm and it is now 5:30.

Do people project there problems onto you? I don't know if this is just something that gravitates to me because of my job or because I have something in me. I am not talking friends I am talk out in out strangers. At work even when I talk to people about which department is in charge of that event they still look at me and talk to me as though I can do something.

hrm I should knit.
Be well.

Gift of knowledge

Well I need some of your knowledge.

I am looking for a title.... So I am trying to think of stories, plays, songs. Where a woman kills her lover's. (kill as in strike dead or broken heart)

I know there are a ton out there I am just drawing a blank.

All will be revealed in the end.

I am crabby

I am crabby and mean today. Sorry SMonkey. I loves you I am just crabby.

My hands hurt and I have nothing to take to make it go away.

I hope you all had a happy turkey day. Mine was nice. The bread was super good and the turkey very nice.

This made me wonder the other day.

A man with red hair and a trench coat was walking down the side of the road carrying a toilet plunger undo his arm.

My head keeps thinking that he is some kids potty knight. Defense of the plunger. Faster then drain o and quicker then the snake. He is the plunger dude. Ok my imagination gets to me. This red head may have like a super hero suit under the trench and he is just waiting for an evil villain to mess with him. Or maybe he is using it like a musical instrument. I have this random Memory from college where one of my friends got a plunger stuck to his forehead. I was not there for that part but he walked around with like a half moon suction cup bruise on his head and the story was retold over and over.

ahhhhh memories.

ok typing hurts my hands.

Wicked Wishes

Well not but it sounded really cool in my head.

This has Been a whoorly wind day. I have not even got to talk with Sonny yet. I don't know where she is. But if I put my mind to it and think really hard maybe I will pass a vibe to her to call me. That timed with a couple messages should give a little hint to her that I am looking forward to seeing her.

ok on with the coolest stuff.

The bazaar is done and it was tons of fun. There was not to much traffic but it was fun. I would show you the great set up Becky had but I forgot to take a camera.

I got my yarn for the scarf swap. It is very nice tweedy wool. I have so many ideas now I just have to settle down on one. It is very earthy and soft. This should be a blast. If you have any great scarf ideas let me know.

Then I got this Fabulous package from my SP3, April. It has this wonderful Scrubby turtle and A great Joe Eskimo Vote t-shirt, pin, sticker. She also sent me some yummy mint foot soap and the worlds best card (this card is totally me...if I could be as wild) . I will have to scan it and show it but it is great. Thanks April. I still don't know who you are though, I think you posted about here. So I have been slowly going through the SP3 blogs to see if I can find you. mahh ahha hahh. Cause I want to see what you are about. Thank you a million.

What else came in the mail you ask.... um not the ebay stuff from this one seller who is slow and won't answer my email. I am going to give her negative feedback which I have never done before. But crap. I sent my money to her on the third. It is now the 22. Does that make me a bad person? She won't even answer my emails. I think that is rude.

Ermmm...Happy knitting.

Wicked Sweet!

I got mail. There is something really special about getting mail. No matter what it is. I love email. I love posts. I even just love notes. I need to send out more notes.

My living situation is so odd. I live in one house. Spend most of my time at a different house. But get my Post at my parents house. So it is odd. Unless I am expecting something I don't get to my parents house every day a normal week yields about twice a week. So sometimes I have a plethora of mail. Last week was one of those weeks.

I was RAOKed twice. From Kae and from Tam. They both sent me wonderful treasures and lovely notes. I was so brightened to received both. Tam's came in an Amazon box so at first I walked by it thinking I had just got some books I ordered. But then I realized I didn't order any books from Amazon I used a different company. Inside was a wonderful crochet lapaghan kit. Its great I have never bade such a big crochet blankie in one piece always in squares so this will be a great movie project. Then Kae sent me a very uplifting card and some wonderful stitch markers. I put them on the hat I have been knitting just cause they are cute.

Thank you Both very much.

Other then that mail I got bills. but even that is ok as long as they are not outrageous.

So what about the mail I sent out.

One pal received and confirmed mail. The second has not yet but she lives further away.

Scarf swap yarn has left and been received. I sent this wonderful brown, orange, pink wool its super soft.

The England package left and was received. The second one should be here in a day or two then I will send the rest off.

I also ordered some Orange yarn for a certain Beavers fan hat. I think this Sunday I will pick up the yarn to make secret squirrel x-mas gift.

ebay stuff is still in transit. But I am waiting patiently while others.... cough cough Sonny cough is not quite so.

I have 15 red squares ready to send out on Monday. Then the rest should follow the following Monday.

Wowsers that's a lot of mail.

Derived from Colorado Knits

Changes and stuff.

Well with the changes of the seasons I think my blog is going to change some too. So let me know what you like and what you don't. Please?

the knitting front is getting down and well I am trying to keep it clean but a certain one eyed dog keeps trying to sleep on it. Blankie is 1/6th to go.

Baby cardi has to be seamed and a collar added.

The WLD knit is four inches long and I have not got to work on it much.

The knit classes are going good. Several scarves have been finished and new ones started. They are all so cool and different.

I sent off three packages on Monday and I am anxious to see what the peeps thought of them. Then I have some more to send out tomorrow including my scarf swap yarn. I am excited about that.

Red Squares:

I think Lynn sent me one. But Now I can't find her envelope> This is the trouble when you are a perpetual mover. You never know where anything is even long after you have moved.

This is a shout out to Sleepy Monkey. Hi. :)

Secret Pal Fun

While I was taming the jungle of the baby shower blankie yesterday there lurked in my mail pile. A small package. A package from my secret pal.

Now before I show the greatness I have to tell you I am confused.

I got a pretty post card from my SP about a week ago. It had a lovely little message and said it was from Oklahoma. Now I made the assumption my pal was from WA because the packages were post marked from Seattle. So I am a little confused.
I guess it really doesn't matter other then I loved the card and I love the package.

With out further to do I introduce you to the package.

From left to right.

A lifetime of Girlfriends

"Be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love."

"Friendship is one thing that never fails to age gracefully."

The sayings are very encouraging but with wit and humor. The pages are so cute with women all together having a good time. It also uses different fabric prints and buttons for a flurrish. I like it.

Next we have a fridge magnet. If you have ever been to my house you know that there are word magnets on the fridge. This one says

live with intention.
walk to the edge.
listen hard.
practice wellness.
play with abandon.
laugh.
choose with no regret.
continue to learn.
appreciate your friends.
do what you love.
live as if this is all there is.
- mary anne radmacher

This to I really like. I will have to be on the look out for one of these for my sis. She post thoughts all over the place to reminder herself of how great life is and to appreciate it.

next we have:
Very cute sheep napkins. I will have to have a tea gathering so I can use these cute little napkins.

Next we have some wonderful little note cards with my initials on them. The front is a big D and you open them and there is a little d. I think these are great.

Thanks much secret pal I am still fondly looking at the yarn I got. It is sitting on my mantel in the only piece of crystal I own. I think the pink is destined to be a cap or scarfette. The mallard is still out. What are your suggestions? Here is what I am talking about.

I have used the stitch markers a lot. I really enjoy them. The picture frame has found a home on my dresser with a picture of my now past cat, Automobile. The dishy is hanging on the fridge looking pretty. I have been looking though my stitch book to see if I can find the stitch you used. I have not yet but I do now have several dishy's to give away. The soap is waiting for the tea party so I can put it out for special company to smell.

I sent my SP's a package this week and I am waiting for them to get to there new homes. I don't know why but I still think mail should get there much quicker then it does.

So I must now go plan a tea party...Do you want to come? What kind of tea should I have? will I require honey or sugar? Yes you can bring your knitting.

More on the blankie when it awakes from a nap.

Da blankie

Da baby Blankie for Mel's shower on the 6th
Here we see it laying in its natural surroundings. The basket.
Nice, quite, and just waiting for you to touch the baby soft yarn.
What you see a sharp object sticking out. You mean its not ready yet? Still on the needles.
The Hussy!
Next we see it sunbathing.
Calm your self. This is rated PG.
This is two thirds of it just hanging out by the work area.

Next we go up and close with the fan pattern.
Watch out it bites.

Wait its on vacation.
In my Locker.
What is happening here?
There is no Hula in here. Please move over this is my space.
NO silly Monkey you can't share my peanuts.
There is no happy dance this is serious blankie business.

Well while we are at the locker lets see what else is in this jungle.
O... The three inches of my WLD jacket.
The weird stuff is just waste cast on yarn.
Its a jungle in there I am sorry but the rest of you are not cleared to see ....

What lies beyond.
Whooo that was tough. Hang tight for tomorrow when we try and document the growth of the baby blankie. It should be a wild trip.
This is me signing off.
disregard all dates on pictures. They were changed to protect the innocent.

Little white lies

Does anyone else think White Lies Designs are great?

I decided to try one so these were my three choices.

The lace hoodie.

Josephine

Angelina Vintage Jacket

I went with the Vintage jacket. I think it just looks so stylish. Now how it will look on me is a different story but I will try it now I have to decide what color. I like the white but I don't know. Maybe an cream?

But I can't start it until I finish my red squares. Which I am making slow progress on. But I have a great incentive now.

I know you think I am Dumb

I work in an office that at time caters to the needs of others.

I know you think I am dumb Silly Law students but....

Law students pay a lot of money to go to school. (This post does not apply to all Law students) I am sure they learn a lot of very important things but sometimes the really important things you don't gather from books or school. The golden rule applies to you even as an adult. Common sense and common courtesy don't have to be 30000 dollars a year in tuition. What you do in life does not mean that is the biggest thing you have ever done in life. As a person who has to serve others for a living does not mean I or anyone else in my office is dumb.

You silly Law student don't know my name, even though it is written on my shirt. You silly Law student did not take the time to listen to the information I gave you. You silly Law student were persistent and annoying. I was nice and gave you all the information you needed to get your mission accomplished. Did I do back Handspring for you ...No. Did I worry about you...Nope.

Now maybe it was pride that had you standing outside for 40 minutes. Then maybe it was pride again that had you standing in my office for another 45 min. Silly Law student if you had listened to me in the first five minutes of our conversation you would have been home by now. You did not. You insisted that you get a taxi home per the late bus. I arranged it for you. While you were in route to my office from your bus stop you missed the bus then while you were in my office you missed another bus. Silly Law students use the ears on your face and maybe you will be home in 20 minutes on the bus rather then 85 min just waiting for a cab then having to schlep around with two other strangers to an fro for another 30 min in a smoky damp cab. By the way I think the free way is closed which might detain you for another 10 - 20 minutes. Yes the cab ride was free but wouldn't if have been better to wait for a bus Five more minutes?

By the way you left your coffee mug in the office while you were waiting. I put it in lost and found.
By the way I am not dumb.
By the way the old guy has a degree in psy and is finishing his masters.
By the way the red head you talked abuts name is Liz its printed on her shirt.
She has a degree in theater, teaches dance, and is a actress in the area when she is not here.

So while you are at school and don't notice us other then to comment on our dumbness here are few more facts about us.

There are 11 of is in this office. Four hold degrees one holds two degrees. 6 are Dads. Two are students. Two have professional jobs away from this one. None of us define ourselves by the job we do. All of us know the names of the people who clean our office. We have helped save lives. We are the most diverse office in any of the three schools. We are not dumb.

Silly Law students I might not be in Law school but I know how to listen. I have different experiences that make me who I am. I have been at my job for a long time and I know how it works and the short cuts that make it run smooth. I am sorry silly Law students that you did not listen to me and tried to make me feel dumb but I get paid to listen to you and when this night is done I will be home in less then 30 minutes. I tried to help you. But you just shouted till you got your way.

Sorry silly Law student I hope your test tomorrow goes well. I hope you get to experience real life soon because if you keep wasting listening time you might never get to do the things you want to do in life. I know someday you will be a lawyer but might I remind you that Lawyers are people to. If you start introducing yourself as - Hi my name is Jennifer I am a Law Student- I might suggest you take up a hobby. But then again what do I know I am just the person who told you how to get home in 25 minutes and you chose to wait an hour and half for a cab.

By the way my name is Danielle and yes you may complain to my boss. He supports me in the decisions I make for you or a person in critical need.

I hope you have a better day tomorrow silly Law student.

You appear to be a Knitting Guru. You love knitting
and do it all the time. While finishing a piece
is the plan, you still love the process, and
can't imagine a day going by without giving
some time to your yarn. Packing for vacation
involves leaving ample space for the stash and

I forgot... & deadlines

I forgot to share the wonderful card my SP3 sent me. Sorry pal I did not mean to forget you I just placed you on my mantel so I can see you every time I walk in and out the door.

Notes,

Ok so I have been making 10x10 red Squares for a swap and I am not used to dead lines and I am failing. I still only have like 12. I need 30. They are not hard and follow no pattern I just can't focus on them. I would love a little help. If you want to help me I would first be really appreciative and secondly inclined to send you a pressie for your help. What the 10x10 Red are for??? The squares are mostly acrylic and when put together will make a rather large afghan that I hope to give to a family in need this Thanksgiving.

Thank you and happy knitting.

How the wool turns

I don't know "HOW" the wool turns but it starts out like this for me. Pendleton wool on spool 10$ a pound.

The pink one is about a pound.

So I cast on for a little bag. For Sonny's cousin who was due one last month.

I also cast on for my Irish hiking scarf along project.

To see them race visit the current works page. So far the scarf is winning but you never know.

This is what I worked on during my knitting circle. Which had a wonderfully large turn out. I did not buy anything at LYS though...Not because I did not want to but because I need to know a few things about sock yarn first.

What are the important things to know about sock yarn?

Rant: ( warned)

Things that get me and a bit of polite queer talk.

"that's so gay" This is a derogative remark, its not nice. This girl came into my office today and that is all she could say. You don't go around saying "that is so straight" or "that is so African American". Why would you go around putting down gay people. If you don't know what it means why are you using it to describe something.

There is this radio commercial on my local radio station that says gays. I don't really care what they say it for but they are trying to make it sound as though a gay person is saying it or wrote it. But they say gays which you don't say straights..You say straight people.. Get your act together and add one more little word gay people.Or say LGBTQ which is a whole heck of a lot more peeps. Even in mass gay people are still NORMAL people. You can't put all gay people in a bottle and come out with any that are identical.

I don' t describe myself as gay. I am queer.

Rant Over:

Have a lovely night

Picture mania..

Run run for the hills the pictures are here.

My felted bag. The little pin needs some bead work done on it and the opening still needs a zipper.

The back of the bag and its silk tie strap. SO classy I know but it really looks good slung over one shoulder. Its also so so so so soft.

The wonderful stuff from my secret pal. The punkins are Becky's but thought they needed a photo debut.

Look at the wonderful stitch markers and cloth I got. Aren't they pretty.

Look at the pretty yarn. You wish you could touch it because it is so soft and wonderful. I have big ideas for both. The colors and not really true in this pic but they are so perfect. WoW.

See the turtle frame. I have been trying to find my pictures so I can put one in it. It is all fabulous. I feel so lucky. Thank you thank you thank you!

OK I am off to knit.

Dear Secret Pal

Thanks Secret Pal.

( I will have pics later so you will have to toon in later to see what come in the post. BUT be prepared it is so awesome you might go loco.)

What I know about my SP other then she rocks. She has kids, posts from Seattle, and I think has pets. I try and read all the SPIII blogs and RAOK blogs so I like to look for who is whose secret pal. I don't want to know I just like the mystery.

Off on cloud nine.

Fluff and stuff

Ok so I have not felted my bag yet but I have plans to do that in the near (tonight) future. If I feel better. I don't feel so hot.

But here are the pre felt pictures.

The Surprise Bag
This is not true to color but I was having lighting issues. The weird white string is supposed to help it keep its shape when you felt it. I am a little Leary of this because it presses four pieces of knitted fabric together. If you look in the bottom right hand corner you get a half shot of Steve. What you don't see is that he is flinging his ball at my feet. Throw me the the ball throw me the ball...That's the only thing on his mind. EVER.

This one is just a different view. The pointy part is where I will attach the straps. It is hard to explain. This is the front the back is all Stst

This one is closer to true color. This is the center pattern design in the front and it is also the same pattern as the inside flaps. This is what it looks like open. I did not use any fuzzy yarn.

But I had a lot of fun dyeing this.

Then while I was taking these pics. The dogs were hanging out with me and look at what the cat was doing....

He is stalking the dog food. He did one bowl then the other. Very very sneaky it never knew he was coming.

My secret Pal wrote me another note...HELLO! I have been having fun with my SP shopping and reading about others secret pals or RAOK friends.

From big to small

The felted back pack is almost finished... I have it all knitted up and will take a pic this evening. Then I will felt and show you it completely finished.

I think it will be very cute. The colors turned out really well. I don't know if I want to use a leather strap or a ribbon strap???

Punk, dog, and yarn loving

Look a Pixel Punk kindda like me. In a thin trendy type way.

I had no knitting today. Zero. Why you ask because I was having a doggy photo shoot.

Look at his pretty hair do. Worth a million bucks he should be doing doggy ads for.... well for..... looking darn cute.

Happy dog and his ball.

The little white dog would not stay still long enough to be added in on this photo shoot. Pretty much all other animals thought he had a bit to much kibble today.

So I will try and comence with the normal programing tomorrow.

Knittery

Knit group at Mabel's Cafe & Knittery went smashing. I might even go to pirate knitting next weekend.

I worked on my kool aide dyed surprise bag. They are going to get Lorna's lace in this week. I am excited as I have never seen it before but lots of people seem to make socks out of it and I want to try.

It was also Knit out down town but it was raining and icky so I did not go. Those who did go said it was rainy and icky. But there is a fiber festival in Canby next weekend that I would like to go to on Sat. Any one else want to go? B?

Wool-ease makes a really comfy wrist rest.

I have been contemplating making a slip cover for my couch or pseudo re-upholstering it and I got this nice red cord material but I don't know weather to slip cover the arms and back then make pillow cases for the cushions or just slip cover the whole thing. I would have to seams showing with the later. ????

So off to finish a red square. I can't wait to be done with these.

A knit along

Look I joined a knit along

You know you wanna join in on the fun. You were eyeing it too.

Hosted by Sheep in the City and MidnightKnitter

It is from the new Knitty I am so excited to try it. But I have to finish at least two more squares before I can start. I think this will be a riot at Winter time as well as Hallows night it is perfect for covering littles ears.

ooo ooooo

Hello good people of blog land,

My secret pal sent me a card with a nice note. Hey Secret Pal I have the card on my mantel because the scene on the front of the card is so nice. I sent a box to my secret Pal with the same pic on it... I just thought that was a wink.

My Secret pal liked her gift.

I am still knitting red squares. But I swatched for a surprise bag and during this swatching I learned that my washing machine is not worth beans. The spin cycle spins out on to the kitchen floor.

It has been raining like mad.

10x10 red

Red patches I knit

all by October

My try at Haiku!
It was hard work to end right
The sad part good bye

I caught the haiku bug from Michelle
If you want to Haiku - it goes 5 syllables, 7 syllables and then 5 syllables - with no particular rhyme.

My secret pal got her gift and liked it.....Yeah.

back to the regularly scheduled red square.

I Got a RAOK..that Rocks

I spent very little time doing none wedding stuff this weekend. I am so pooped, Mel was lovely in her gown and Scott was very nice in a TIE. Took a lot of people to get him to wear it. But it was grand. I don't want to wear my Bridesmaid dress ever again nor do I want to see blue material for a while. I hung a night sky for there breeze way with lights underneath to make stars. That is 12 yards of material 60 inches wide 10 feet in the air.

A lovely depiction of me making a weird face in loo of not having any knitting pics. I have been working on my afghan squares. Red red red. I also died some wool with cool aid with the help from Vidardottir . It is a mix of reds purples and blues. It will make a cool felting project. But it won't match my outfit below.

I also went to woolen Mills to buy wedding stuff and picked up Pendleton Wool. One cone in blue and one in lit tan to dye. I also got some material to make curtains for my front room. Lastly I got undetermined Pendleton yarn it normally has enough wool to felt. $13.90 for it all. That rocks that is almost a pound of wool.

Yeah to future projects.

Then here I a funny pic.

The chat has had a bit to much to eat me thinks. You can't see the third empty dog bowl but it was quite funny to walk in and see Sebastian looking like he ate all the dog food and wanted more.

I have not been home to look at it but I also got RAOK today with some great Bead projects. I am stoked to go and see it. Thanks to Lynne I am so happy and excited about it.

I sent a RAOK out and it should be home in a day or two. I also Sent my Secret Pal a present. Whoo hoo for the gifting.

Back to the squares.

SP3...add ons

22. What is your favorite animated character or a favorite animal/bird?

I am not a big animated character type person....Yes I watch cartoons(ha ha ha). However I do like turtles very much.

23. What is your favorite holiday?

I am quite fond to Christmas and Thanksgiving. Both because I get to see all the wonderful family that I have and secondly because my mom is a wonderful cook and I like to partake of home cooking when I can get. I also like to buy gifts.

24. Is there anything that you collect?

I collect turtles made out of natural things, like wood. I also collect glass bottles and ballet figures.

Really a knit post...Where

So I have not really posted any knit pictures. So here is the Flower Power bag I knit for Becky's B-day.... And then stole back to take pics of before it went missing.

Taaa daaa

The front has a flower from an online afghan site. The bottom piece is crochet and the very first I have every done with that. I had a lot of fun with this. It is lined with bright pink stripes you can kind of see them on the front pic peaking out from the top. The handle is a p2tog and the middle piece of the flower is an attached crochet circle. If I were to do it again I would make the blue square in front a pocket and knit the whole body striped, then attach the pocket.

So the Tree bag is next to finish in bag land. It only needs to be lined. I need some great 70ish green fabric to line it with. Or should I do contrast and put Cream with pink flowers on the inside... hrm.

On to secret pal notions...I picked up some fun stuff for her but she has not answered my questions so I hope she got them and will like what I have to send her. I got a couple Raok things to send out as well.

More later gater.

The Farmhouse

Which flock do you follow?

this quiz was made by alanna

Erm I went to the bestest of the best yarn stores in the world yesterday. At least my little bit of world. IT had everything I have never seen in a yarn shop before...They had yarn that was 105$ a skein...That's like almost a quarter of my rent in a month. I have never seen so much haindpainted and spun fibers in my life. They had a whole room for just sock yarn...a whole room. The shop lady was a little gruff but the yarn made up for it. I could have spent hours there. As it was I only spent a minute I was so overwhelmed. MUST GO BACK.

I got a secret pal

I know who my secret pal is ....Does the amazing secret pal dance..... I am so excited she seems nice....

planning planning..... Yeah

I am such and incredibly large dork. But I like me.

Someone has me as a secret pal....its a shocker of a day.

Here I give to you the getting to know you Questions from SP3

1.Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer high-end/natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Or is it all the same to you?

I am not a yarn snob. I think everything is good for something. If I had to choose from knitting with high end yarn or not knitting I would say pass me the Red Heart.

2.Do you spin? Crochet?

I do not spin but am hoping to learn how in the near future. The idea of being involved in a project so much is exciting to me. I also think dyeing roving sounds fun.

I have just started to crochet. I am on my third doily. I can’t read a crochet pattern but I can follow a chart. I like how small the yarn or thread is with crochet.

3.Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.)

I am allergic to eggplant, feathers, and white diamond type perfumes. I also am allergic to much vitamin C. Its crazy what to much C can do to a person.

4.How long have you been knitting?

I have been knitting on and off since I was 10. Then have for the last two years Knit avidly.

5.Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?

I have no wish lists. I will see if I can create one.

6.What's your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.)

I love vanilla almond. Or a sent called Mari Mari… things that are uplifting and soothing.

7.Do you have a sweet tooth?
I do like sweets especially salt water taffy. I am a hard candy fiend I just like it.

8.What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do?

We could be here all night if I listed all of them. I like to sew, I am just learning how to put together clothes. I bead and have for a long time, knitting and beading at the same time is a passion. ( I can never remember if it is bead knitting or knit beading). I enjoy turning old ties into needle cases. I use a plasma cutter to shape metal. And a thousand other projects.. I like to DIY stuff.

9.What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if you want to make her a CD)
I have a CD player but nothing fancier. I like many types of music. KD Lang, Five o clock people, Montgomery Gentry, Indigo Girls, Charlotte Church. I happen to be studying for my Theatrical Design Degree so love classical, musical, and opera… I am a lover of all except rap. There had to be one.

10.What's your favorite color? Or--do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer?

This is kind of like the music question. I am drawn towards jewel tones or fire tones. I wear a lot of autumn shades and water colors. I decorate in Pastel greens and eggplant. My favorite color changes with the day.

11.What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?

I have a Girlfriend, Sonny Ann…yes that means I am …. We have several pets technically she has the pets but I love them to. Stevie Ray a blind little white puppy(2), Shep a very possessive pom (old), Cody a blue healer who just wants love and a bath (12), Sebastian the cat of many moods (4), Renegade the rooster who just appeared (?), Mr. & Mrs. Bunny they were adopted (?), and lastly we have a couple of frogs and a fish.

12.What are your life dreams? (really stretching it here, I know)

To be happy.

13.What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with?

I don’t think I have found my favorite yarn yet. I like soft fuzzy yarns. Or smooth thick yarns… Damn I just like yarn and am patient enough to work through even crappy yarn.

14.What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?

I am not a big fan of some of the novelty boa yarns. They are a little to floofy for me. But I have made several scarves out of them.

15.What is/are your current knitting obsession/s?

Bags bags bags….I am currently obsessed with making bags. I want to make a felted needle bag. Like the old knitting tubes.

16.What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?

Afghans and bags. Not necessarily in that order.

17.What are you knitting right now?

Numerous things. I am working on a Pirate afghan for my Girl. A baby blanket for my HS friend, a swap-afghan in reds, brown, and black. I also have a pair of beaded fingerless gloves to finish, a baby wrap, and bag that needs lining. Plus a couple that I have sent to the back of the line.

18.What do you think about ponchos? (this is really a curiosity question for us)

I have never worn a poncho and can’t quite fathom knitting one for myself. I could see my sis in one and I imagine she will ask for one.

19.Do you prefer straight or circular needles?

I like Circular that have a nice weight to them other wise I like dpn’s then lastly I like a good pair of straight needles.

20.How did you learn to knit?

My Mom showed me the basics then gave me a book.

21.How old is your oldest UFO?

Five months. I don’t have a long term memory for things that are not in my daily life. There might be something older but it is long forgotten and stuffed in the corner.

Who thats a lot of me...But I have a secret pal to spoil.

O my head is spinning

I got a RAOK today.

It was happily hanging out in my email when I checked this afternoon. It is so perfect and makes my day light and happy and just the best. Many Many thanks go out to Plath.

Basking in a happy glow.

I found caramel Tea, Raspberry, and some blackberry. Yummy

Forward go the projects...

The necklace

and a closer look The bigger beads have painting on them to represent flowers and little green leaves. There is a center bead to hang from the center with a bigger flower. The black swallowed all the color.

is coming along slowly

Then we have the Table doily

Everything is going forward and soon I will have the necklace finished and will be moving on to the square swap... Must finish on time. But first I have to find in which box they are hiding.

The house is wonderful and I will be so happy to add a little splash of color to it.
