A poll?

The poll had a error of proportions to big even for me to fix so we invoke the power of a vote instead.

Top one is from Lion Brand

The second is Celtic Knot

The Third is Kate

The third I would make with out the Pocket

Help a girl out!

In rainy rainy land far far a...

I had time to knit...but alas this lame lady has been taken over but the power of moving boxes and a hand truck.

But I did sneak in a couple rounds on the doily the other day at work. Its about the size of my hand now. Yippie. Some where in the land of boxes lies my habit. I am itching to go find it all that wonderful yarn and fiber ..but I am being good and unpacking first. Then I can sit in my new backyard and knit away. I have not even bought any and I was in a yarn shop.

I did however buy a hand full of beads and such... But I needed them to do the necklace for Mels mom.

Mel on her 21 B-day

so I am off to complete that task then maybe make some stitch markers...Or sleep.

State of Heart...

I forgot my knitting today and could not find the crochet hook in the right size for the purple doily so here I have started a new one. With what basically looks like thread. Its exciting. Yes that is a Thirteen crochet hook, its itty bitty.

What it will some day grow up to be. Pretty.

Lovely.

its a long long day I worked it out and for the last three weeks and the next two weeks I have 240 working hours. No wonder I am tired. I do much better with two days off in a week rather then one. I can do I will stick it out. I need the OT anyway.

Back to the hook.

Seconds always

I am hungry and wish for a good home cooked meal. Do you think if I keep wishing one will magically appear? It used to appear when my parents came to visit me at work they would bring me something yummy to eat. My Dad has been out here twice in the last week and he did not even ask me if I was hungry. So odd for my Dad he must have stuff on his mind.

I have all my non WIP yarn packed along with all the sewing stuff. SO now I can pack the other five boxes that aren't taken up with huge amounts of yarn, beads, and fabric. I am a stasher but Have high hopes for all my projects yet to come.

So a little lovin...

A nice thing to wake up too...

A little blurry but this would be the work in progress 10x10 in royal quilt stitch. It reminds me of fishnets. Look mom I am knitting on plastic needles..so weird. In the midst of moving I found some of my uber nice circ needles the ones that feel just perfect in you hands.

Some of the Maltese crosses and a mitered square. I still need to block these and hide my tails.

but they go in the WIP box until after I move.

I hate moving you would think I would just settle down...But no I got to bop.

Donut or Doily

Well I suppose I should pick the doily over the donut.

SO my second Doily ever...Its half way done I present to you.

O it is weird to crochet. It seems to use more yarn/thread. But it is fun I picked up a great bunch of Crochet charts from the 70's, 80's, and 90's. They are great I can't read the crochet pattern but I can follow the charts. They were a steal at 4 four a quarter.

I got a couple great knitting mags to. Some of the older vouges and a great winter issue of some random knitting mag that has the best cardi's and belted sweaters. I think I am going to make a couple for my mom and sis for x-mas.

Then today I got some wonderful photo art books all hardback for a quarter each. I also picked up Angela's Ashes, Brother and Sister, and All Things Great and Beautiful. Then I found some coned Wool both tan and a slate blue with navy slubs will make a fun little felting project.

I feel good.

I have been knitting away on my Maltese crosses I am working on my sixth one. When I get ten I will send them out. I have received several and am excited for the rest to come.

Mohair...wicky wicky yo>

You are Mohair
You are Mohair.
You are a warm and fuzzy type who works well with
others, doing your share without being too
weighty. You can be stubborn and absolutely
refuse to change your position once it is set,
but that's okay since you are good at covering
up your mistakes.

What kind of yarn are you?

Well that's a burnt biscuit

My lovely long post and update have been swept away and are nowhere to be found.

So a short recap.

Not knitting yesterday.
Thur the server was down so lots of knitting.

Went and saw Princess Diaries II yesterday with Sonny. IT was good, however there were lots of kids. Not nice quiet well behaved children with responsible parents..The other kind.

A boy! SHE IS HAVING A BOY?!

I can't believe Mel is having a boy....A BOY.

well I guess I should not put Pink trim on the baby Cardi...

A boy!

ooo

brother!

I ain't no high class broad

I took a little time to dance this morning...a little ballet with a little Melissa Ethridge....very very!
I got mail.
In the handbag we find some goodies for pleasures yet to come.
What I bought. A little tussah silk a tiny itty bit hank of sinfully soft sky blue and a larger gauge of taupe. Now I am not sure what I am going to do with this silk yet but it has to be something that touches the skin.
I also got some Linen cotton mix that is a fun whimsical blue that shall be a perfect scarf... I think. Does one do that with Linen?
In the land of cotton we got pink, army green, and a bit of papaya. Wash cloths and a couple of doilies will emerge. My mother can't stand that I don't make white doilies and I can't understand her dislike of my pretty table decorations that also add color.
I got a bit of fun vintage sherbet novelty loopy yarn. If I or anyone I knew would wear a poncho I would be tempted to use if for that but I think it will become the trim on a couple of little girls ballet wraps and leg warmers. Pink and orange are a good combo.
So much to do.
I am addicted to

Six Feet Under

and had a marathon watching session tonight. A little Maltese cross knitting and a couple of funeral directors all a commingled.

The Jessie James theme

OOO I wish to be in bed or at least a cuddling...... But Knitting at work is a close runner up.

I tried my luck at the slip stitch dots but alas this maiden dark can't find a dot of the right size. I found little dots and big huge dots but none that fit my square. I will have to sit down and think about it... Preferably before midnight and after 7am.

I may not have got my dots in order but I got my Maltese cross in order and two swatched I just need to figure out the one I like better. One is longer and more open the other is squatter and closer. I am leaning towards the squat one it is just aesthetically pleasing. I think for this mans afghan that a Maltese cross is good. I can also practice my two color knitting. Black on red or red on Black???

Sonny's super secret pink pirate practice square is half way done. Since I have not done intarsia with so many colors I am making a trial and error one first to work out my bugs . It is turning out pretty good. The little Mitered squares that frame the Pirate flag are chugging along. I figure I need a million and I am close to having 12 done. I am using the blah color mixed with a punchy color to create tasty stripes.

I am a minute close to finishing Becky's bag. I made the lining last night after going to the parental units home. All that is left is to join the tops and place the handles. I was having so much fun with my sewing machine last night I made her a little cutting tools and tape measure bag to match. They turned out much better then I had thought they would.

LIFE:
Good. I am going through bitter sweet glory of moving..Again. I am just not enchanted with this apt. Its good on the outside and crappy when you live there. I am going to house sit for Sandy hopefully longer then six months. But of course moving is moving. At least it is just I and Sonny will still be living in her house... I dread and love the idea of us sharing. But extracting her stuff From Becky's sounds horrid.

Its good but tiring to the mind
Knit on

Pearl of no Oyster

I am still avidly awaiting the day of pictures. I have been working on my things but as of yet have not finished any of the old ones just keep chugging along on new ones...I know its horrible but projects are calling out to me. I got a baby ballet wrap finished and it only wants for seaming as does Becky's flower power bag.

I am in the midst of a square swap that is taking a lot longer than I had anticipated. But am having fun trying to find a me pattern to pass around the world.
