So first to pick a prize is Kathy from MinxKnits.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comWhat she gets to pick from....Some hand dyed strippy yarn...(that's the stuff yet to be dyed Or I will send it naked and you can dye it.) We have some lovely wool in shades of Orange, red, pink, and yellow... Or there is some possum laceweight in Moody blues, from Cherry tree....... Or I have a plethora of stitch markers I can customize to your needs.

HATE

I hate very few things in my life....

I have decided that I hate Brittany Birch size 0 short double pointed needles.

Don't duhhhhh me about how I am knitting on a sliver of wood. They are very very cute looking but deep inside them lurks the evil snap dragon. It wants to come out after you have completed your toe. not the soc, but just the toe.

I hate you Brittany Birch size 0 Short double pointed needles.

The only thing that is saving you from becoming kindling is that you were expensive, your cute, and there are five in a package. I own Addi 0 but they are smaller than BB zero's. I will have to look at the addi one's they might be closer to the right size.

Stupid Stupid dumb, annoying, bratty, stupid stupid needles.

I really like the 5 inch size but I do not adore the breakage rate.

:(

Go take a stab at the images below. They will be up for the week and I am still deciding on the prizes yarn. But it will be nice. I might even send you a pair of BB size 0 short double pointed needles....minus the one that broke of course.

Guess my images contest *edit*

Well I have been taking a Drawing 101 class....

These are the two most recent drawings I have been working on. Yes like all things recently in my life they are mostly incomplete. The first one more so than the second one.

Can you guess what they are?

Persons guessing the closest to what the image is to both items will receive a yet to be named yarn/fibery prize. I will randomly select one as well....Cause the one is really really hard to tell what it is.

maybe further away will help you see?

A proud little three ply.

My mini stash

More things to finish.... Yes I know that one looks like road kill.

Layer one and two of the new yarn.....YARN

Reminds me of tofu...but better...unless it is fried tofu from downtown...then it could be a toss up.

Odd

My giant yarn purchase is shipping... I am waiting....Rather patiently

I took apart a sweater to make socks with...Because it is the greatest color and I want to make some argyle socks with it for my sister. They remind me of a pair that my mom used to have that now I have but can only find one of.

Which incidentally is hanging in the bedroom on a hat that is suspended by a dart in the wall.

So as not to make the identical pair I am flipping the colors around. Lavender socks with white and green argyle. I spent night before last learning the argyle pattern. It may kick my butt. SO I am thinking two socks at a time toe to ankle so that if I get butt kicked I can just stop there and call them done. But I am hoping to make fairly tall socks.

And I am in love with this sweater. LOVE

Will I ever knit a whole garment bigger than a pair of socks?

Yarn

I ordered yarn...

Lots of yarn.....

7105 yards (6496.812 m) of yarn...That's to say...

sock yarn=3570 yards
Lace weight =2475 yards
and Worsted weight = 1060

yeah...um...it is all white yarn. But it has a future of become pretty pretty colors. I really only needed the ww to make some hats for presents. It is a 50/50 alpaca wool which I am hoping is not going to be to hot. I was thinking that the alpaca should be nicer on the head than just plain wool.

But the sock yarn was calling to me. I am totally up for dyeing some more stripey socks. I want to try the knit machine method and the really big loop method works good for me.

The lace weight is alpaca and I have not knit with lace weight alpaca or got to dye any alpaca. There is a certain shawl I want to knit up... I went searching for others who have made this shawl and there are several in dark colors that look smashing.

In knitting news the shawl is half bound off...I ran out of yarn half way through the bind off. I must go find a small chunk of purple yarn to finish the last little wink....Or add fringe to the edge..Yeah I would rather find a bit more purple or rip back a row.

Hellos

Thanks Shannon. The card was great and a perfect timing. It came last week at the busiest moment of my day.

THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Than I must also say hi to Stripey!

ON the knitting front we have just a few more rows to go.....Then a little dyeing and spinning happened on my weekend.... It turned out great but I have to decide if I am brave enough to risk plying it or if I will once again knit a single...

Its a really tough decision for me. Cause my colors could end up all messed up.

Other than that we have school School School.

I said I was sleeping

Donni I know I said I was going to bed...but there was a issue with this computer so I am making sure it logs on and off....and writing a post in the middle...

My bulky yarn.... A blurry picture of it but I heart it so. Even in the glow of the monitor light it makes me smile.

Dear Ms. Anonymous,

You may do which ever feels right to you. I love both ideas.

Copy cat

I read Jodi's blog.....I enjoy Jodi's blog.

Actually I read every blog in my sidebar plus a fair few off other peoples side bars.

Example = Mog's blog - Princess knits - Hello Yarn - Red lipstick

Yes I drive the same way home every day, I change lanes in the same spot each time, I also have no sense of direction.

Back on topic Jodi does Studio Saturday which I can't really do every week but I have one this week.

fruity tooty loops

The fruit loops first scarf is finished...but still not blocked. I am not quite sure even if it is in my bag or if it is in the car or the house... Not sure but it did turn out ok. Not my favorite but I do like it and the colors inside the colors are very nice.

But the second piece of Fruit loops is so different they almost can't be part of the same dye pot. The colors that spun up are very different. Still stripy but more of a solid tone. Where the first one was mainly the three colors I mixed this one is the outcome of mixing the three colors. You can still see the main colors but they are not as loud.

So I split the whole tube down the middle and I Navajo plied one half and was hoping for a little more than what was yielded...oops. So I may go find a matching solid color to make a hat out of and use this portion as the brim. Or put it with my cool spun yarn basket.

I have a small basket of yarn to look at. Just look at, don't we all have yarn we don't intend to knit with. Is that just me?

The other half I am making a shawl with. Yes single ply. Someday I will try a two ply but I like how the colors fade and switch. If I did a ply they would melt into one another and become just another variegated yarn. It is also a shawl I have already made. The lace leaf pattern. Its a nice quick pattern that is not so complicated that the stripes look weird. Cause I would faint of something weird.

So this is it thus far.

What other great and wonderful things do I have to share. Well I colored my hair. Um in case you don't know what color my hair was before think mouse colored. So now it is Burgundy or rather a purple red color I am telling you if I could make it blue I would.

Bio project...don't ask.
